Brad Thress Biography
As leader of engineering, Brad Thress oversees the engineering efforts of Beechcraft, Cessna and Hawker product lines. In this role, Brad is responsible for new aircraft development certification, compliance, technical publications and product safety, as well as engineering product support for all aircraft in production and legacy models. He also leads Flight Operations.
Prior to beginning his current role, Brad was senior vice president of Customer Service. He also previously served as Cessna senior vice president of Business Jets, assuming this title in 2011. Brad began his career with Cessna in 1992 as a demonstration pilot. He became product marketing manager for the Citation X in 1996. In 1999, Brad was promoted to program manager, responsible for development and certification of the Citation Sovereign.
In 2002 he advanced to senior product director, responsible for the production line start-up for the Sovereign. Brad assumed the position of vice president of Quality in 2003 and was responsible for FAA compliance, process control and variation reduction initiatives. In 2006 he was named vice president of Component Operations. Brad served as a pilot in the U.S. Air Force prior to joining Cessna.
He has a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Tennessee and a MBA from Baker University. He holds several Citation type ratings.
